Paul McGee, 1st Plymouth Military Appreciation Day Honoree

In May, the State House held its 2nd Annual Military Appreciation Day. This year, the 1st Plymouth District honoree is Paul J. McGee. It was wonderful to celebrate Paul and his incredible lifetime of service, and especially meaningful that he was joined by 4 of his 5 children for this special honor.
Paul’s life has always been rooted in leadership and a deep commitment to both his community and our country. After graduating from Boston College High School and Boston College, he served as an Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1958 and continued his service in the Active Reserves until 1967.
Following his military service, Paul built a distinguished career in the insurance industry, eventually founding Paul J. McGee Associates and serving in numerous leadership and educational roles within the profession.
Paul also continues to give back to Plymouth through his service as a Town Meeting Member, Chair of the Commission on Disabilities, and Chair of the Cable Advisory Committee. His dedication to public service and his community has inspired generations of leaders to get involved and make a difference in the lives of others.
Congratulations, Paul, and thank you for your service to our nation and our community. We are so lucky to have you in Plymouth!
Thanksgiving Meal Distribution
with the Plymouth VFW

In May I joined my Senate colleague, Senator Joan Lovely, in hosting Celiac Advocacy Day. We are hopeful this is the first of many Advocacy Days that we will host to continue educating members and staff.
Thank you to Lyla, Naomi, and Brandon for using your voices and advocating on behalf of your classmates and others living with celiac disease across the Commonwealth. And thank you to Vanessa Weisbrod (Celiac Disease Foundation) , Sharon Weston of Boston Children’s Hospital , and Dr. Maureen Leonard of Massachusetts General Hospital for Children for sharing your expertise and helping move this conversation forward. I m also grateful to Terry for bringing her family from Plymouth, and to everyone who traveled from across the state to advocate and learn more.
I was also truly surprised and honored to receive the 2026 Celiac Disease Policy Leadership Award alongside Senator Lovely from the Celiac Disease Foundation. This is the first time this has been given to State Legislators. I am incredibly grateful for this honor!
Massachusetts Association of School Committees' Lifetime Achievement Award

I was honored to receive one of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees’ Lifetime Achievement Awards. Serving on the Plymouth Public Schools’ School Committee was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life, deepening my commitment to public service and my love for this incredible community.
During my time on the committee, I had the opportunity to advocate for full-day kindergarten, equity and inclusion, school safety, building improvements, and much more — always alongside dedicated colleagues who put students first.
It was especially meaningful to receive this award alongside Dr. Jim Sorensen, who devoted more than 35 years to Plymouth School Committee. Thank you to MASC for this recognition!
